Received from Tom & Jodie…

Dear all,
We just want to say a massive thank you to you all for your help on our journey.  It truly would not have been possible without your friendship, kindness, generosity and advice.

The Wednesday Night Time Trial Series started this week out at Kairanga. A smaller group than usual headed off in near perfect conditions and this was reflected in some quality times, with Matiu Kaihau blowing past the 16:00 minute barrier in just the first week, and Josh Chard posting a very impressive 16min 43sec. The women's course record holder, Jocelyn Goodwin recorded 19 mins 31sec as the fastest women on the night but was only 3 sec ahead of Rachel Southee with track sprint champion Megan Blatchford-Peck, just a further 12 sec back. So it looks like it will be a tight tussle for the women's fastest time for the series. And with the ideal conditions on the first night it will be a challenge for the riders to improve their times for the rest of the series.

PNBHS was eventually to take second place in the teams events competition at the conclusion of North Island Secondary Schools Cycling Champs.  Having won the competition in Jul in Cambridge, BHS have continued to display some good all round form across a number of the grades.  They were disappointed to finish fourth in the team time trial event and they were only beaten by one second for third by Christchurch BHS.  We certainly had high hopes that the boys were going to do it this time but it was not to be, said Howard Pinder, the BHS cycling coordinator.

And we have an additional 9 track bikes arriving soon and appointments to hire these are filling fast.

There is a "Have a Go" on a track bike or just on the track on Sunday 23rd October which is the Sunday of Labour weekend
