As part of the young enterprise scheme at school Fergus Allan and I have set a business that sells bike lights with a built in brake light, and for our market research we were wondering whether you would be able to put a link of our survey up on the bike manawatu website, http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FW2BCQN

To all interested U17 and U19 riders who are Bike Manawatu members and who are keen on improving their general strength through the winter break:

Steve Stannard is organizing resistance training evenings, beginning at Massey University, starting next Thu night.

They will start at 6:30 pm, likely on Mondays and Thursdays (though not absolutely set) and will begin with an introduction to the safety and techniques of weight training.  Each session will last about one hour.

Please email Steve if you are interested, but do this after talking with your coach and/or parent first.

Numbers will be limited so first in, first served.

There will be a (large) gold coin ($2) donation each session to cover the instructors time.

Once Steve has a list of interested riders more information will be provided.

Japan - 2013 Season

To preview - a short video of me racing in Black last season.
After a short flight from Auckland to Narita and then a 6 hour bus ride into the mountains here at the Keirin School, I am in good spirits to be back here learning ‘how to race’ even though it is for 10 days and the schooling starts at 8.30am and finishes at 5pm!  This is my third time in the lucrative and ludicrous Keirin league and I am just as excited to race as I was first time round in 2010. It is still an honour to be asked as one of the 6 international riders and first Kiwi to come and race the 2500 registered domestic riders.
