Results for the club Time Trial 2011

Mark Findlay (photo Kirsty Kaihau) Bike Manawatu fielded a 30 man strong team for the 3rd edition of the Ultimo Central Hawkes Bay Junior Tour. Rachel Southee, Mark Findlay, Michaela Drummond and Emily Shearman rode very well all claiming second places in their grade.

Except for the U13 boys BM had entries in all the grades. It is very pleasing to see that in their inaugural year BM has juniors competing in all age groups.

Tonight was the third event for the club champs, the standing 400m time trial Race. Remember you need to be a member Bike Manawatu to be eligible for points towards the club champs. Look under the About us section of the website to find out how to become a member. There are 2 events remaining for A and B grade riders held on the 21st March; 2 Lap (800m) Scratch Race; and the 2000m Scratch Race. C grade riders have the 2 Lap Scratch race on the 21st March.

Alex Denholm winner of the series. (photo Kirsty Kaihau) The Wednesday Night Time-Trial Series concluded this week with the final time-trial and a prize-giving at Kairanga Hall.

Alex Denholm topped the Points Table with a score of 15 out of a maximum 16. A great effort from Alex to consistently improve each week, especially given the varying wind conditions throughout the series.

Matiu Kaihau has been working towards this night. He even brought his wind trainer for the perfect warm up. And YES he took the course record from his brother Wiremu by 5 seconds. The new mens record is 0:15:21.That is more than 46.9 km per hour. Congratulations Matiu

Today was the last round to collect points. Next week final round  for the season. After the ITT there will be a prize giving with some cash prizes and drinks and nibbles in the Kairanga hall.
