Laykold

Denay Cottam capped off a fantastic afternoon of racing, holding off Jordan Castle and Mark Findlay in a rapid sprint finish at the end of the 10km Open Senior Laykold Cup scratch race.

Kate Stewart is in top form and is impressive at the Adelaide Super Drome where she is competing in the 2013 Oceania Track champs.

After 3 events of the omnium Kate is placed 2nd overall behind Josie Talbot of NSW.

Kate in the first event which was the flying lap finished in 4th place with a speed of 58.66 km. Her finish time was 15.343 seconds with the 3 times better than hers showing as 15.052, 15.260 and 15.277.

The second event of the omnium was the 10km points race where Kate finished 2nd on 10 points, one point behind Josie Talbot.

The third event was an elimination race and Kate also finished 2nd in this event.

She now has 2000m pursuit ( Result finished in 8th place ) followed by a 7.5km scratch race.( Result 6th ) The final event in the omnium is the 500m time trial.( Result 5th)

So overall Kate placed 5th in the under 19 women omnium.

Kates final event for the Oceania champs was the 15km points race. where out of the 17 riders in the final Kate was able to attain 4 points and finished 7th overall.

Well done Kate. An excellent effort and result.
