The club’s AGM is scheduled for the evening of Wed 25th March. I’d like to encourage you all to attend, to show your support of the organisation, but also as an opportunity to help determine the make up of the Board.

If indeed you are keen on being part of the governance of Bike Manawatu and would like to contribute by working on the Board or with the Board, then please give me a call to chat. More to come about the AGM next week...

At the same occasion straight after the AGM, as usual we will have the track prize-giving ceremony.

Please come along to support the young (and older) riders who have achieved on the track, participate in the AGM, and enjoy some food in a social setting.

Steve.

Membership for Bike Manawatu is due for the 2015 year.

Recreational Riders

If you would like to become a member who enjoys the Bike Manawatu membership discounts and would like only to do club activities, then you can register directly with the club as a social member (contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) for $35.

Ride and Race

If you would like to race only at the club level, then you can join as a ‘Ride’ member.  If you are keen on doing racing at the next (regional or national) level, then you will need to register through Cycling NZ as a ‘Race’ member.  The latter allows you to compete at other clubs or regions, participate in Centre-organised events, and do the National Championships.

The Retro Ride has unfortunately been postponed.

A new date will be announced soon.

This week’s club race is a Hill Climb Time Trial up Ngahere Park Rd.  Please meet at the end of Turitea Rd where it turns to gravel at 1:00 pm for a 1:30 pm start.
The cost will be $3 for members and $5 for non-members.  The time trial starts there, goes back along Turitea Rd, turning left into Ngahere Park Rd.  The finish is at the highest point on Ngahere Park Rd.  The total distance is 4.7 km.

NZCTWith The NZ Cycle Classic starting in PN at 10AM, two of the the Sunday rides this week should enable interested cyclists to get up the Pahiatua Track before 10.15AM to watch the race go over the top.

We've changed the rides from those advertised so you can support the tour.

The long ride is now BM30 – Track Saddle, but in reverse, which should give about the right timing to see the tour come past.

The Short Ride is now BM27D
