First of all, my sincere apologies for the absolute lack of communication regarding the WCNI events:

I think the best process for me and everyone at your end is to (if you already haven't) - register riders on-line through our website...

Click on the Tab: Time Trial (for race details)
Click on the Tab: TT Entry (enter all your riders, or you could ask your riders to do this for you)
and/or
Click on the Tab: Road Race (for race details)
Clike on the Tab: RR Entry (enter all your riders, or you could ask your riders to do this for you)

Once entries close off (5 April 5:00pm)  I will send each club who has enrolled and the total amount due $

As I have had problems collecting money from riders who attended the WCNI track champs and due to personal commitments on the weekend of these champs I will be unable to collect your money therefore all riders from Bike Manawatu will need to pay on the day.

On the day of racing we will get all the riders (or parents as appropriate to age group) to sign the Waiver for the entire 2 day event (this is a lot easier than dealing with lots of 'paper' registration entries.

We still require assistance with officials etc on the day including timers etc, (especially on second day for the Road Race) so if you are able to assist or know of some parents who don't mind, can you please let me know.

Track Cycling Feilding

Warm up from 5.45pm

Race starting promptly at 6.15pm.

1. Warm up races

A. Under 15’s 5 Laps race on the whistle

B. Under 17’s 6 Laps race on the whistle

C. A & B Grade 6 Laps race on the whistle

2. Record Attempts

3. Feilding wheel races

A. Under 15 boys/ girls 2011 licence categories 2 Laps

B. Under 17 boys 2011 licence categories 3 Laps

C. Under 19/ Under 17 girls 2011 licence categories 2 Laps

D. A & B Grade 4 laps

4. Scratch races in above categories except A&B Grades as they will have a Handicap race.

5. Long Handicap Races

A. U15/u13 10 Laps

B. A&B Grade 20 Laps

The 40 km time trial is the gold standard for any time trialist and managing to ride the distance in under an hour is a genuine challenge and significant achievement for all but the very talented rider. Sadly the opportunity to ride a 40 km time trial is a rare thing indeed.

However, all is not lost because Wellington Veterans Cycling Club holds a few 40 km time trials within a reasonable driving distance over the summer months. They are a friendly bunch and the club welcomes guests of all ages. If you are not a member there is a small entry fee of $5.00. A number of riders from the Manawatu ride these events each season.

The time trials programmed for this year are:

Sunday 20 February 2011: 40 km TT at Kahutara. Guests of all ages welcome.

Sunday 13 March 2011: 40 km TT at Masterton. Sorry, this is an open event for masters riders only.

Sunday 27 March 2011: 80 km TT around Lake Wairarapa. I know it is not a 40 km time trial, but you can think of it as 2 x 40km J This event is open to all ages.
