Pedal 4 Pleasure – 28 March 2021
The Marton Rotary's Pedal 4 Pleasure is returning to Marton this March and is excited to be running alongside Marton’s Harvest Festival. Pedal 4 Pleasure is now becoming an iconic event and what started out as a fun day out for a few friends has developed into a fantastic day for all. Last year the event was cancelled due to COVID-19, but charging on, we are building on the great success of 2019 which saw more than 180 participants cycling the beautiful Rangitīkei country roads. The funds raised from this event help Marton Rotary support local youth, and wellbeing initiatives . "The event is an awesome opportunity for families, novice riders and competitive people to take part in a wonderful bike ride around the scenic Rangitīkei." Your non-riding friends and family can enjoy the day at the icon Marton Harvest Festival with loads of quality stalls, food, a beer tent and live entertainment. Don’t fret if your riding and want to enjoy Harvest Festival too, they’re open until 4pm. Marton town turns it on with loads of local support in spot prizes including the Major Spot Prize of furniture from Wards Furniture Ltd!
Pedal 4 Pleasure offers rides for all abilities from the challenging 82 km with a 1000 metres of climbing, the 40 km scenic ride and the 18 km fun ride offering a country morning tea stop on the way which is perfect for all ages. E-bikes are welcome on all rides.
All prizes are by draw. Every entrant is eligible for the Major Spot Prize of furniture from Wards Furniture Ltd. And due to our generous community there are heaps of other spot prizes too!!!

BM Track Results – 21.02.2021
Due to the cancellation of the River City Wheelrace, we held a meet at Feilding velodrome. A great contingent from Wellington joined us, as did a few Wanganui riders. It was a great day out on the track with 13 A Grade racers - probably the most we've seen all season and several photo finishes. Rider of the day was Leighton Riley.

After last weeks race 2 of the Palmfeilds Mini Series being postponed, we had a great turnout last night at the Akers Road circuit - there were good numbers across A, B and C grades with smaller numbers in other grades.
This is a race format that is clearly popular among our masters aged members and our younger members too - it was great to see such a range of ages show up for quality racing, and the fantastic and well received hospitality provided by the series sponsor Palmfeild Motors.
It was great to be able to catch up with other riders of all grades and dissect the race in a safe spot off the road while enjoying the sausages and beverages from Rob and his team at Palmfeilds.
The postponed race from last week will now be held on Tuesday 2nd March at A1 loops - make sure you pre register to save time
